FWIPSEC
FWIPSEC is a set of scripts which have been developed with security,
functionality, simplicity, vpn's, transparent proxy in mind. The definition syntax
is very similar to other enterprise firewalls, yet is much easier to manage.
FWIPSEC is positioned as the «core» security decision maker and allows data
to be inspected not only bound from the Internet, but also from any devices off
of any internal interface or dmz. Having this device also provide an «edge»
gateway for mail keeps unwanted viruses, malicious attachments and Spam
from entering the secure network, protecting the vulnerable clients within.
Forcing internal clients to access normal web traffic via a «transparent proxy»
provides a mechanism for highly configured Internet caching and usage without
the need to manually configure each workstation.
